7 Best inFlow Inventory Alternatives

Seven inFlow Inventory alternatives for independent retailers, verified October 15, 2026, with pricing, limitations and how to move off inFlow without losing your history.

inFlow Inventory alternatives are tools that replace inFlow for tracking stock, orders, or the cash tied up in slow inventory. We rank seven, each checked against its vendor's live site on October 15, 2026. Cash Margin Partners ranks first for independent stores on Shopify, Square or Lightspeed that want their trapped-cash figure for free.

Most inventory software counts every unit in the back room. Few tools tell you what those units cost you to keep, or which ones to move first.

Disclosure: Cash Margin Partners publishes this site. We rank ourselves first, we say where a competitor is the better pick, and one entry discloses a partner relationship.

How We Evaluated These inFlow Alternatives

We looked at inFlow competitors selling small business inventory software and scored each on five things a store owner pays for. Pricing and features were verified October 15, 2026, on each vendor's own pages.

  • Fit for independent retail: the vendor sells to stores with one to a handful of locations.
  • Published pricing: you can see the price, including onboarding, before talking to sales.
  • Connections: the tool reads or runs the system where your sales happen.
  • Migration effort: how much work it takes to bring your inFlow history across.
  • Cash visibility: the tool shows the dollar value of stock that has stopped moving.

We weighted cash visibility and published pricing most, which is why Cash Margin Partners ranks first. A store that lives on purchase orders should weight those higher.

What inFlow Inventory Does Well

inFlow Inventory is a capable stock and order system for small businesses, and plenty of stores should stay on it. Archon Systems, the Canadian company behind inFlow, says on the inFlow homepage that 50K+ businesses use it.

  • Every plan includes unlimited products, sales, purchases and integrations, per the inFlow pricing page.
  • The inFlow integrations page lists over 95 integrations, including Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, QuickBooks Online and Xero.
  • Barcoding is built in, and inFlow sells its own smartphone scanner and portable label printer.
  • Reordering covers recommended reorder points, one-click purchase orders and reorder by location.
  • A B2B portal shares your product catalog online with wholesale buyers.
  • The inFlow report list includes Inventory Aging and Estimated Inventory Duration reports.

Those last two reports show which stock is old. The report list doesn't name a forecast of cash at risk, and the inFlow features page doesn't mention markdown or liquidation.

Why Retailers Look for an inFlow Inventory Alternative

Cost at the jump from Lite to Core is the first trigger to check. The inFlow pricing page lists Lite at $99 per month billed annually, for 2 team members and 1 location.

Core is $299 per month billed annually for 5 members and 5 locations. A $499 onboarding package is optional on Lite and required on most other plans. That puts a first year on Core at $4,087.

  • Add-ons stack up: lot numbers, serial numbers, the API and the B2B portal are listed as add-ons on some plans.
  • Two systems hold your stock: in a store, inFlow usually runs beside a separate POS, and both must agree.
  • CSV is the only way out: inFlow's archiving guide says backups aren't available to download.
  • Counts in units: the reports show aging stock, and you still work out what it costs you.

Cost pressure is broad. In the Federal Reserve's 2025 Small Business Credit Survey, 77% of small employer firms cited rising costs, tariff costs, or both as a challenge.

Key data point: US retailers held $1.27 of inventory per $1 of monthly sales in July 2026, per the Census inventories-to-sales ratio on FRED. At that ratio, a store selling $40,000 a month would hold about $50,800 in stock.

Want the dollar figure before picking software? The free trapped-cash estimate asks a few questions and returns a directional range.

1. Cash Margin Partners: Best for Seeing the Cash Trapped in Slow Stock

Cash Margin Partners is a free, read-only analysis that runs on top of your Shopify, Square or Lightspeed Retail X-Series account. It never writes to your store. Direct availability depends on production launch status and workspace eligibility; compatible item-level exports remain available after column review.

Cash Margin Partners is an inventory cash-recovery practice for independent, owner-operated retailers. It shows them exactly how much cash is trapped in unsold inventory and gives them a prioritized plan to get it back.

That's us, and we'll tell you where CMP falls short. While inFlow tracks units well, CMP prices the slow ones in the back room and ranks what to do first.

Key features

  • Live, read-only connections to Shopify (OAuth) and Square Point of Sale, listed on our integrations page.
  • The Square connection reads every active location, the item library, inventory counts and up to 366 days of completed orders.
  • Lightspeed Retail X-Series (formerly Vend) is labeled live, with up to 366 days of completed sales across every active outlet.
  • Lightspeed connects through a capacity-managed custom app that may pause new connections, and availability depends on workspace eligibility.
  • Spreadsheet upload takes item-level CSV, TSV or Excel files with a guided column review. That covers inFlow exports, and Clover stores through compatible exports.
  • CMP estimates 30, 60 and 90-day cash-at-risk ranges, plus stockout dates with confidence bands, when there's enough sales history and cost data. Forecasts and predictive alerts require a recent successful supported live connection and sufficient history and cost evidence; model projections are not guarantees.

Cash-at-risk is the dollar value of inventory the model projects won't sell inside the window. Dead stock is inventory with no verified sales over the measured period, and our dead stock definition covers how to measure it.

Pricing

Cash Margin Partners is free: one plan, no card and no time limit, per our pricing page. There's no marketplace subscription; CMP earns a 20% fee only when a CMP Exchange transaction closes. CMP Exchange availability and transaction handling follow its published seller terms.

Who should choose Cash Margin Partners

  • Owners whose Shopify, Square or Lightspeed account already tracks stock, and who kept inFlow mainly for reports.
  • inFlow users leaving the platform who want their exported sales history to stay useful.
  • Anyone who wants a trapped-cash number before paying for new software.

Limitations

CMP doesn't create purchase orders, receive stock or print barcode labels, so it can't replace inFlow's order desk by itself. QuickBooks and Xero are on the roadmap, and any POS outside Shopify, Square and Lightspeed needs a spreadsheet upload. Direct availability depends on production launch status and workspace eligibility; compatible item-level exports remain available after column review.

Thin or messy cost data produces a thin analysis. If you need purchase orders too, pair CMP with a POS that handles them, or with Zoho Inventory.

Store example: Take a hypothetical 1,500-square-foot outdoor shop on inFlow Core, paying $3,588 a year plus the $499 onboarding package. Say $18,000 of its $120,000 inventory at cost hasn't sold in six months. That stock ties up over four times the first-year software bill.

To see your own version of that $18,000, connect Shopify, Square or Lightspeed to a free workspace, or upload your inFlow exports. No card, no trial clock. Direct availability depends on production launch status and workspace eligibility; compatible item-level exports remain available after column review.

2. Zoho Inventory: Best for a Like-for-Like Swap at a Lower Price

Zoho Inventory is the closest like-for-like replacement for inFlow, covering stock, sales orders, purchase orders and warehouses with a free plan. Zoho describes it as online inventory management software ideal for small businesses.

Key features

  • Multichannel sync with Shopify, Amazon, Etsy and eBay, with Square listed among its integrations, per the Zoho Inventory product page.
  • Stock across multiple warehouse locations, with warehouse-level reports.
  • Reorder points that trigger low-stock alerts.
  • Serial number and batch tracking, barcode generation and stock counting on Premium and above.
  • Zoho Books and QuickBooks Online for accounting.

Pricing

Zoho Inventory is free for 50 orders a month, 1 user and 1 location, per the Zoho Inventory pricing page. Standard is $29 per organization per month billed annually, covering 500 orders, 3 users and 2 locations; Premium is $79.

Who should choose Zoho Inventory

  • inFlow Lite users who want the same jobs done for less.
  • Stores already running Zoho Books.
  • Online sellers syncing Shopify with Amazon, Etsy or eBay.

Limitations

Order caps bind fast: Standard covers 500 orders a month, and extra blocks of 500 cost $7.50. Barcode generation and stock counts start on Premium, and Standard rises to $39 on monthly billing.

Zoho Inventory vs Cash Margin Partners

Zoho Inventory replaces inFlow's order desk, while CMP reads the POS you keep and prices the slow stock. Many stores could run both.

3. Lightspeed Retail: Best for Specialty Stores Ready to Run Inventory Inside the POS

Lightspeed Retail is a POS built for in-person retail with inventory inside it. That removes the second system inFlow users keep beside the register.

The Lightspeed Retail product page claims about 146K locations. It lists bike, sporting goods, apparel, toy and gift stores among its retail types.

Key features

  • Purchase orders for any location, plus stock transfers between locations.
  • The NuORDER catalog, with product data for over 5 million products, and PO Sync with NuORDER.
  • Insights on the Plus plan, covering forecasting, order recommendations and custom reporting.
  • Integrated payments and ecommerce on all three plans, with landed costs and loyalty from Core up.

Pricing

Basic is $89 per month, Core $149 and Plus $289, each with one register, per the Lightspeed Retail pricing page. Those prices reflect Lightspeed Retail (X-Series); annual billing saves up to 18%, and extra service fees may apply.

Who should choose Lightspeed Retail

  • Bike shops, outdoor stores and other specialty retailers.
  • Owners replacing an aging register anyway.

Limitations

Switching means changing your checkout and payment processing, a bigger project than swapping inventory software. Extra registers and locations are add-ons, and the page publishes no price for them.

Lightspeed Retail vs Cash Margin Partners

Lightspeed Retail runs the store, and CMP reads Lightspeed Retail X-Series read-only to price the slow stock. The two work together where workspace eligibility allows, and our list of Lightspeed Retail add-ons for inventory covers more pairings.

4. Square for Retail: Best for Small Shops Already Taking Payments on Square

Square for Retail moves inventory into the register many small shops already use. It has a $0 plan, with stock tools on Plus.

Key features

  • The Free plan creates items and SKUs automatically, per the Square for Retail pricing page.
  • Plus adds inventory management and stock intake, vendor and purchase order management, and cost of goods sold reporting.
  • Premium adds transfer orders and cross-location returns.
  • In-person card processing runs 2.6% plus 15 cents on Free and 2.5% plus 15 cents on Plus.

Pricing

Square for Retail is $0 per location on Free, $49 per location per month on Plus and $149 on Premium. Processing fees apply on every plan.

Who should choose Square for Retail

  • Single-location shops already ringing sales on Square.
  • Stores that used inFlow mostly for counts and reorders.

Limitations

Vendor management and purchase orders need Plus, and transfer orders need Premium. Payments run through Square, so you give up choosing your own processor.

Square for Retail vs Cash Margin Partners

Square for Retail tracks the stock, and CMP reads Square read-only, including up to 366 days of completed orders. Our roundup of Square inventory management apps covers other tools that sit beside it.

5. Sumtracker: Best for Shopify Stores Selling on Several Channels

Sumtracker is inventory management and replenishment software for Shopify and Amazon merchants. It fits online-first stores better than inFlow's order desk. Sumtracker and Cash Margin Partners list each other's tools.

Sumtracker says 2,000+ brands use it, per the Sumtracker homepage.

Key features

  • Stock sync across Shopify, Shopify Plus, Amazon FBA and FBM, eBay, Etsy and Walmart.
  • Bundles and kits that share stock, plus adjustments and stocktakes.
  • Purchase orders, stock transfers and 12-month forecasting with reorder suggestions on Replenish.
  • Up to 10 warehouses and 10 sales channels on both plans.

Pricing

Manage starts at $59 per month, billed monthly, for up to 2,500 annual orders, per the Sumtracker pricing page. Replenish starts at $119, annual billing saves 16%, and the 14-day trial needs no card.

Who should choose Sumtracker

  • Shopify stores also selling on Amazon, eBay, Etsy or Walmart.
  • Brands that sell bundles built from shared components.

Limitations

The pricing page doesn't mention Square or any POS, so a store ringing most sales at a counter is a poor fit. QuickBooks needs the Replenish plan.

Sumtracker vs Cash Margin Partners

Sumtracker keeps stock in sync and tells you what to reorder; CMP tells you which stock to stop reordering and what it's costing you. Shopify stores can connect both.

6. Sortly: Best for Simple Phone-Based Counts

Sortly is simple inventory tracking on a phone, built for counting supplies, tools and stock. Sortly says over 15,000 businesses use it, and retail and antiques appear among its listed industries.

Key features

  • A mobile app with offline mode, per the Sortly homepage.
  • Barcode and QR scanning, plus built-in label creation.
  • Low-stock alerts and date-based reorder reminders.
  • Reports that export to PDF or CSV.

Pricing

Sortly Free covers 100 items and 1 user, per the Sortly pricing page. Advanced lists at $49 per month for 500 items and 2 users. New annual subscribers currently pay $288 for year one.

Ultra lists at $149 per month and adds purchase orders. Premium lists at $299 and adds QuickBooks Online, and trials of the priced plans need a card.

Who should choose Sortly

  • Small shops counting stock with a phone.
  • Stores that never used inFlow's sales orders.

Limitations

Sortly's homepage doesn't mention sales orders, invoicing or POS, so it can't replace inFlow's sales side. Item caps run from 100 on Free to 5,000 on Premium.

Sortly vs Cash Margin Partners

Sortly tells you what's on the shelf, and CMP tells you what the slow part of that shelf is costing you. Both have free plans.

7. Cin7 Core: Best for Retailers Who Also Sell Wholesale

Cin7 Core is inventory software for growing product businesses, and it suits retailers who also wholesale and need B2B and warehouse depth. Cin7 says retailers, ecommerce sellers, wholesalers and manufacturers use it.

Key features

  • Unlimited inventory locations on every plan, per the Cin7 Core product page.
  • Point of sale and a B2B portal, both sold as add-ons.
  • Assembly, kits, bundles and bill-of-materials tracking on Standard.
  • Over 70 reports, plus ForesightAI demand forecasting as an add-on.
  • Shopify, Amazon, QuickBooks Online and Xero among a claimed 700+ integrations.

Pricing

Standard is $349 per month for 5 users, 6,000 sales orders a year and 2 integrations, per the Cin7 pricing page. Pro is $599 and Advanced is $1,199.

Who should choose Cin7 Core

  • Retailers with a wholesale side.
  • Teams of five or more who need multiple warehouses.

Limitations

Standard costs more than inFlow Core before any add-ons, and POS is an add-on on every plan. Integrations are capped per plan, starting at two.

Cin7 Core vs Cash Margin Partners

Cin7 Core runs purchasing, warehouses and wholesale orders; CMP reads your retail POS and shows the cash in slow stock. A store on Cin7 can upload exports to CMP.

How to Move Off inFlow Inventory Without Losing Your History

Export every data type from inFlow before you cancel, because inFlow's archiving guide says backups aren't available to download. CSV exports are the only copy you'll keep.

  1. Reactivate anything you want to keep. Product exports skip deactivated items, per inFlow's export guide.
  2. Export each data type. Under Settings, then Export, save CSVs for products, stock levels, reorder settings, customers, vendors, sales orders and purchase orders.
  3. Run lot-tracked products twice. inFlow's guide says lot-tracked items need a product details export first, then a stock levels export.
  4. Save the history reports. Run Historical Inventory Summary, Inventory Aging and Sales by Product Details, then save each as CSV or Excel.
  5. Copy what won't export. Attachments and manufacture orders can't be exported, and sales quotes export but can't be re-imported.
  6. Set a cutover date. Count stock that day and load the counts as opening stock in the new system. File the inFlow CSVs in a dated folder.
  7. Keep the sales history working. Upload the product and sales order exports to a free CMP workspace, where a guided column review helps you map inFlow's fields.

Operator tip: Ask every new vendor whether it imports closed sales orders or only opening stock and open orders. If it's only the second, your sell-through history lives in the CSVs, and that history is how you spot what stopped selling.

Sell-through is the share of units received that sold in a period. Our guide to calculating inventory turnover covers related math.

How to Choose an inFlow Alternative

  • If your POS already tracks stock and you kept inFlow for reports, start with Cash Margin Partners.
  • If you need sales orders, purchase orders and invoices for under $100 a month, pick Zoho Inventory.
  • If you run a specialty store and your register is due for replacement, pick Lightspeed Retail.
  • If most sales happen online across marketplaces, pick Sumtracker.
  • If you wholesale and retail with five or more staff, pick Cin7 Core.
  • If you only count items, pick Sortly.

Plan Your First 90 Days After Leaving inFlow

The first 90 days decide whether the switch pays for itself. Work in this order, whichever tool you pick.

Week 1: export, connect and count

Export everything from inFlow, connect your POS, and do a physical count. That count is your opening stock and your baseline.

Weeks 2 to 4: act on the oldest cash first

Sort slow items by dollars at cost, largest first. Decide for each one: reorder, mark down, bundle, return to vendor, or list for liquidation.

Weeks 5 to 12: measure again

Re-run the analysis monthly and compare cash-at-risk to the Week 1 figure. Cut next season's buy on any category where slow stock keeps growing.

How to Vet an inFlow Inventory Alternative

  1. Does it read the system where your sales happen? The tell is a demo that only ever runs on sample data.
  2. Can it import closed sales history? The tell is a vendor that talks only about opening balances.
  3. Does it answer in dollars or units? The tell is a report full of quantities with no cost column.
  4. Is the full price on the website? The tell is onboarding or add-on fees that appear only after a sales call.
  5. What permissions does it request? The tell is write access to your store for a job that only needs to read it.

CMP's connections are read-only by design, and our security page explains what we store and how.

Start Here: Four Steps You Can Take Today

  1. Export your products and sales orders from inFlow under Settings, then Export.
  2. Run inFlow's Inventory Aging report and save it as CSV.
  3. Multiply the oldest aging bucket by unit cost and compare it to a year of software fees.
  4. Get the free trapped-cash estimate, or upload your exports to a free workspace. This directional questionnaire gives a benchmark range; use a supported connection or reviewed item-level upload for SKU-level analysis.
