CMP reads
Evidence for inventory decisions
- Products, variants, SKUs, prices, and product status
- Inventory quantities and locations
- Unit costs when Shopify makes them available
- Orders and line-item sales history
Shopify inventory analytics
Connect your Shopify store once. CMP securely reads the product, inventory, cost, and order history needed to show what is sitting too long, what is at risk, and what to do next.
Read-only by design
CMP requests only the commerce data needed to build an inventory diagnostic. The connection is not a route back into your point of sale.

Connection flow
Use your store name or .myshopify.com address from onboarding or Reports & data.
Shopify shows the exact permissions CMP requests before anything is connected.
CMP imports the catalog and usable order history, checks data readiness, and creates your report.
Automatic refreshes and manual re-sync keep the connected inventory view up to date.
How the data is handled
Shopify separately controls access to orders older than 60 days. When read_all_orders is granted and the store has at least 120 days of usable sales, CMP can produce the complete recovery analysis. Without that grant, CMP uses an explicit 60-day window and labels the result as preliminary rather than overstating certainty.
CMP reads unit costs from Shopify when the connected store exposes them. Complete recovery analysis requires cost coverage for at least half of stocked variants; missing costs are shown as a data-completion step.
CMP reads the store catalog and inventory location data available to the installation, then normalizes variants and sales into the same inventory model used across CMP.
Signed Shopify events and scheduled reconciliation keep CMP aware of catalog, inventory, and order changes. You can re-sync or disconnect at any time.
No. The CMP Shopify integration requests read-only access and does not edit products, prices, inventory, orders, customers, themes, or checkout settings.
A complete recovery analysis needs at least 120 days of usable sales and cost coverage for at least half of stocked variants. Shopify also separately approves access to orders older than 60 days.
Yes. An organization admin can disconnect the Shopify store from CMP. You can also use the guided spreadsheet path instead of a live connection.
